Best ways to get rid of dark circles:
Use a cold compress or cold tea bags:
Every day, morning or in the evening apply a cold compressor for 10 minutes. This gives relaxation to your eyes. It reduces swelling & inflammation and helps to soothe capillaries under the eye and gives relaxation.
If you do not have a cold compress you can also use a cold tea bag as a substitute. To make it, soak the tea bag in water and place it in a refrigerator for 30 min. Now use it as a cold compress, put it on your eyes for 10 minutes or so, and rinse with warm water.
Use tomatoes potatoes or cucumbers as eye masks:
Tomatoes are rich in lycopene, which improves your cardiovascular health, vision, and skin. Lycopene makes skin softer and also helps to reduce the appearance of dark circles.
Squeeze tomato syrup, mix equal amounts of lemon juice and tomato syrup, and apply around the eye area with the help of cotton balls. Let it dry for 10-15 minutes and rinse it with warm water.
Potatoes are a rich source of vitamin C, they help in the synthesis of collagen and make skin healthier.
You can make use of potatoes as eye masks in two ways. You can use potato syrup and apply it using cotton balls or you can make thin slices and use them as eye pads. Let it stay on your eyes for 10-15 minutes and rinse it with water.
Cucumber eye pad is something that we have been seeing for years in all the movies where actresses apply it and give a fancy look but do they work?
Yes they do, cucumber has natural skin-lightening properties. They are rich sources of antioxidants that reduce inflammation and soothe the muscles under the eye.
You can use cucumber and lemon syrup or cucumber slices. Let them stay on the eyes for 10-15 minutes and rinse them off.
Rose water or cold milk:
Rose water helps to soothe skin cells and rejuvenate dull skin and it also acts as a skin toner, dip the makeup remover pads in rose water and let them soak for a few minutes, now use the eye mask on your closed eyelids, and let them sit for 10-15 min.
You can also use cold milk to serve the same purpose. Vitamin A present in milk contains retinol which makes skin brighter and younger. Just like rose water dip the makeup pad in cold milk and let the soaked eye pad sit on the eyelids for 10 minutes.
Vitamin-E oil or coconut oil:
Vitamin E oil acts effectively against aging. Apply 2-3 drops of vitamin E oil before going to bed and wash it with warm water in the morning.
Coconut oil has anti-inflammatory properties that act effectively against dark circles, and it also moisturizes skin and prevents fine lines & wrinkles under oil.
These are some of the easily available remedies that act effectively against dark circles. If you practice them over a while as a part of your routine you will witness the change by yourself.
In addition to these practice a healthy routine, and make sure to have enough sleep ranging from 7-8 hours. Avoid alcoholic beverages to the maximum extent. Reduce your screen time. Practice meditation or exercises to be free from stress.
